| In 1943 our Founder, Soror Elizabeth Garner, and Co-Founder, Soror Violet T. Lewis, stepped forward with bold courage, enthusiasm and charted a course into the world of Greekdom with the formation of this unique organization for business and professional women now known as Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. The organization immediately made history through its many dedicated efforts on behalf of women and children, fostering educational opportunities, sponsoring a showcase for talented youth through the “Artist of Tomorrow” program since 1943 and many other benevolent enterprises and social functions that served to improve the quality of life.
